Empowering the Female Athlete – Sunday, May 16
Join us on Sunday, May 16 from 1-4:30 pm at the Jackson Community Center for “Empowering the Female Athlete,” an event for junior high to high school female athletes, parents, and coaches. The event features local athlete and 2010 Olympic speed skating medalist Alyson Dudek. Dudek will present her story of what it takes to be an Olympian and how to stay motivated and healthy.
The event also features presentations by orthopedic surgeon Kristen Maskala, MD, and sports medicine physician Stacy Lynch, MD. Other features include BMI and bone density screenings, nutrition information, and information about proper shoe fit and orthotics.
